		<description>Agreed, LinkedIn operates on a "Freemium" model as well.  The difference is most (all?) Freemium models I've seen to date operate on a large step up. I'm advocating a move to a micro-payments model, where you pay for the very small features you use. 

I think micro-payments will be more compelling in the long run -- I can't justify the large subscription fee that LinkedIn wants to enable it's premium model, but I might pay $5 to turn on the one feature I'm really interested in.</description>

Totally agree with your comments. The "Freemium" business model comes to mind however when reading through it, as pushed by VC Fred Wilson and exemplified by wordpress.com (ie, core service free, but you pay for extra fearures)</description>
